Illinois grant helps McLean County YWCA with reentry program
BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) - Half a million dollars is headed to McLean County to help people adjust to life outside of prison.
The McLean County YWCA has been awarded $505,704 from the Illinois Department of Human Services.
This will help with reentry, pre- and post-release services for inmates from Logan, Decatur, and Lincoln correctional centers.
The one-year grant allows YWCA to employ four reentry support specialists to work directly with the newly released convicts to find them housing.
The goal of the grant is to help people rebuild their lives.
