Carle expands mental health services with new Trillium Place site in East Peoria

PEORIA (25News Now) -Trillium Place, an affiliate of Carle Health, is expanding healthcare services in Central Illinois with a new facility in East Peoria.

The new site is expected to broaden access to care by staffing five mental health clinicians, three addiction recovery specialists, and four support staff.

The clinic will offer services including addiction recovery, group therapy, relapse prevention education, DUI services, and walk-in assessments.

Placing the facility in East Peoria will help serve an underserved community in need of mental health support, said Dr. Derrick Booth, Trillium Place executive director of community services.

“Getting assessed to see what level of support you need is very important,” said Booth. “It provides help for everyday life, to build a sustainable life and handle daily tasks. Everybody can benefit from some form of self-care and mental health support.”

The new Trillium Place location is at 200 River Road in East Peoria, near the Riverfront Walmart. It’s also located near a bus stop, making services more accessible for those with transportation barriers.

“This facility is in a central, easy-to-access location here on River Road, and ensures our specialists are close by whenever patients need us,” said Heather Hintz, interim president of Trillium Place in a prepared statement.

“We know that access to care remains a challenge - not just in Greater Peoria, but nationwide. We are committed to supporting continuity of care across central Illinois and ensuring that all individuals and families have access to the high-quality behavioral health services they deserve,” Hintz said.
