Man shot in leg following 14 rounds fired in Peoria
PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria Police are looking for a shooting suspect after a man showed up to a local hospital with an apparent gunshot wound to his leg.
According to police, just before 3 a.m. Saturday, officers were called to North Sheridan Road and West McClure Avenue after a ShotSpotter alert showed about 14 rounds were fired in the area bordering Central Peoria and the West Bluff.
When officers arrived, they found no evidence of a shooting, nor did they find any potential victims. However, that changed a short time later, when police learned a man showed up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
That gunshot wound was determined to be non-life-threatening, police confirmed.
Police did not release any suspect information as of 4:30 p.m. Monday. The investigation continues.
Those with any information about any violent crimes are encouraged to contact Peoria Police at 309-673-4521, Crime Stoppers at 309-673-9000, or anonymously via text through Tip411.
