Motorcyclist identified following deadly Bloomington crash with SUV

BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) - A 40-year-old Bloomington man is identified after a deadly crash on Wednesday afternoon. The McLean County coroner says Matthew J Moritz died from multiple blunt force injuries following the crash on the motorcycle.

Toxicology is pending.

BPD reports the crash happened just after 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of East Oakland Avenue and Old Farm Road. This is near the Central Illinois Regional Airport.

The collision was between a motorcycle and an SUV. Despite aid from an off-duty police officer and others, Moritz was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The driver of the SUV is expected to be okay, and the incident remains under investigation.
