East Peoria native and Illinois State alum David Perkins finally earns his first professional golf victory with his win today at PGA Tour Americas’ Explore NB Open

(25News Now) - Four years after he initially turned pro back in 2021, East Peoria native and Illinois State alum David Perkins finally earned his first professional golf victory. The 27-year-old finished in first place, going nineteen under at the PGA Tour Americas’ Explore NB Open up in Canada.

With the win, he earns $40,500 and picks up 500 points in the Fortinet Cup Standings, propelling himself to first overall. If he stays within the top 10 at the end of the season, he’ll earn an exempt Korn Ferry Tour card, which is the last step before potentially making it to the PGA Tour.
