Yard waste collection beginning in Central Illinois

PEORIA (25News Now) - As spring approaches, Central Illinois cities and townships prepare to begin collecting yard waste.

In Peoria, yard waste collection has already begun. Residents can put sticks, grass clippings, and leaves in compostable bags or 40-gallon trash carts with “yard waste only” stickers. It will be collected on the same day as regular trash pickup.

The City of Normal will begin collecting on March 31, and Bloomington’s yard waste season begins on April 14.
