Police called to burglary at Morton business

MORTON (25News Now) - Police from Morton and two other agencies were on the scene of a burglary Friday at an area business.

R.P. Lumber at 1035 West Jefferson Street in Morton was closed for the evening when the burglary alarm sounded about 5:30 p.m., said Morton Police Det. Sgt. Michael Foster.

The sergeant said no one was inside the business at the time, but it’s not clear if anything was stolen.

There have been no arrests, according to Foster.

Morton Police were on the scene along with officers from Washington and the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office.
