OSF Healthcare completes purchase of St. Margaret’s Health Peru

PERU, Ill. (25News Now) - OSF Healthcare now owns the property formerly owned by St. Margaret’s Health Peru and St. Margaret’s Health Spring Valley.

In a statement, OSF Healthcare says the organization has completed the asset purchase agreement of the real estate and personal property, including the former hospital building in Peru.

As we reported in July, the hospital in Peru is expected to open with emergency care and other inpatient services following the completion of the sale of assets from St. Margaret’s Health to OSF.

The Peru Hospital closed in January.

St. Margaret’s in Spring Valley closed in June.

OSF adds opening date specifics should be available in a couple of weeks.

“Our goal has been and continues to be to preserve and sustain access to high quality, local health care for the residents of the Illinois Valley, as we begin this new chapter together,” said OSF in a prepared statement.
