It looked a lot like Christmas at Pekin Moose Lodge for annual holiday gift show

PEKIN (25News Now) - Pekin Hospital League volunteers spent hundreds of hours turning the Pekin Moose Lodge into the site of the league’s holiday gift show on Saturday.

The league of Carle Health Pekin has hosted the show for almost 50 years. Items for sale included ornaments, décor, poinsettias and Christmas trees. Everything for sale was either donated or created by league volunteers.

All proceeds from the gift show go directly to the Trillium Place Young Minds Center to bring awareness to mental illness patients.

“It’s what we’re here for. We have donated so many millions of dollars actually in the 50 years we’ve done this. And it’s our way of giving back to our community, which is very important,” said Jan Darnell, co-president of the Pekin Hospital League.

Unsold decorations from the gift show will be displayed and available for purchase at the Carle Health Pekin Hospital League Boutique at 600 South 14th Street in Pekin and the Nearly Nu Shop at 1017 Derby Street in Pekin.
