Peoria County Labor Day closures
PEORIA (25News Now) - Labor Day makes its way back to central Illinois. Here are some closures in Peoria County to be aware of this holiday.
Holiday closures include the Peoria County Courthouse, Peoria City and County Health Department, Veterans Assistance Commission, Election Commission, Regional Office of Education, and Highway Department offices.
Another service that will be closed on the holiday is Animal Protection Services. However, the closure on Labor Day will not affect open adoption hours on Saturday, Sept. 5 and if you need to reach out to an animal control officer on the holiday, you can do so by calling (309)674-3131 during business hours.
The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office, along with the jail and juvenile detention center, will remain staffed but in-person visitation will be closed, and records will also be closed as well. Remote visits will still be happening if you have scheduled one and the bonding lobby will still be open with normal hours.
The Peoria County Coroner’s Office will also be staffed but the office is closed to the public.
For the full list of the closures happening around the county, you can go to the Peoria County website.
