4-year-old dies after falling from farm equipment

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV/Gray News) - A 4-year-old child in Wisconsin died after falling from a piece of farm equipment.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office reported the child fell from a piece of equipment at a farm in the town of Marcellon at about 6 p.m. Wednesday. The sheriff’s office did not specify what kind of farming equipment the child fell from.

According to the sheriff’s office, the child was severely injured in the fall. Deputies confirmed the child was dead when they arrived.

The child’s name has not been released at this time.

The sheriff’s office extended its condolences to the child’s family and thanked the officials who responded to this tragic death.

“This was a tragic incident for all involved,” the agency stated in a Facebook post. “Our condolences go out to the family affected by this tragedy. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.”
