PEORIA (25News Now) - Even after 60 years of performing, the so-called “Godfather of Shock Rock” is headed back to the River City.

Alice Cooper will bring his “Freaks on Parade 2024 Tour” to the Civic Center Theater in Peoria on Sunday, Aug. 4.

Cooper released his debut album “Pretties for You” in 1969. The 76-year-old and his self-titled band broke into the mainstream following the release of the 1971 single “I’m Eighteen” from their third studio album “Love It to Death.”

The three-time Grammy-nominated rock star has over 5 million monthly listeners on Spotify Music, with his hit songs “Poison” and “School’s Out” having over 500 million streams.

The event begins at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4.
