K-9 dies after suffering a medical episode
LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KVVU/Gray News) - A police K-9 died earlier this week after suffering a medical episode.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported on Facebook that Ash, one of the department’s narcotics detection dogs, had died after suffering a medical episode on Tuesday.
Police said that Ash was rushed to a critical care veterinary hospital and was stabilized. However, his condition soon deteriorated.
The veterinarian is currently working to determine the cause of his death.
“Ash will be missed by everyone who worked with him, and especially by his partner and handler,” the department said in the post.
Ash was a narcotics detection dog with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for nearly 10 years. He also competed in the 2019 K-9 Trials, where he finished second in vehicle searches.
