Plumber sparks fire at Knoxville apartment complex

PEORIA (25News Now) - A fire started by plumbing work caused one person to be displaced from a Peoria apartment Friday afternoon.

Peoria Fire Chief Shawn Sollberger says it happened on North Knoxville at the Carriage Hill Apartments around 4 p.m.

Officials say, the fire did cause Knoxville, between War Memorial and Forrest Hill, to be closed for several minutes.

Sollberger says the plumber was soldering two pipes together when the fire started, and it was quickly put out. Damage estimates are unknown.
