BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) - Admission and membership prices, along with prices for programs, are going up at the Miller Park Zoo after the first of the year.

The last price increase was in 2015. Zoo director Jay Pratte says cost increases over the past year have made it necessary to adjust zoo fees.

“This necessary adjustment still maintains the zoo as one of the most affordable family recreation options in the region,” he said in a release.

Zoo fees are going up by $2.05.

Pratte also says the zoo has joined Museums for All, a signature access program of the Institute Museum and Library Services to encourage people of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum-going habits.

The program supports those receiving SNAP benefits, who may visit the zoo for a nominal fee of $3 per person, up to four people, when a SNAP EBT card is shown.

Zoological Society prices are also increasing, Pratte says.
