You Gotta Eat: Kersh Cafe

FARMINGTON (25 News Now) - I’m starting off the New Year with some breathtaking brunch. There’s a spot here in town that’s been serving just that for nearly 70 years.

Kersh Cafe opened back in 1954. 65 years later, Misty Kaufman and her husband, Agim Bekteshi, took over the business and kept its memory alive.

“This is a family restaurant with a history of the family name,” Misty said. “I want to keep the Kersh Cafe name going.”

The vibe inside has stayed the same, but the massive menu has grown over the years. It features something for just about everybody.

“My husband - just cooking, alone, is his pride and joy,” Misty said. “Just to make everyone happy.”

We join Agim in the kitchen to watch him do his thing, starting with a breakfast best-seller: warm and spongy cinnamon toast.

The breakfast binge continues with a farm-fresh fusion: the biscuits & gravy omelet.

For lunch, Kersh Cafe has a ton of options inspired by plates from around the world. Agim sets me up with a fresh, yummy gyro with meat cut straight from the spinner.

Pair that with some hearty, homemade soups and this is a recipe for success.

Misty says when you come to Kersh Cafe, they want you to leave with one thing.

“I just want everybody to be happy,” Misty said.

At this spot, you can change what’s on your plate, but the warm, inviting atmosphere will always remain the same.

Monday: 6:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Tuesday: 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
