You Gotta Eat: Aunt Ginny’s Cafe
MORTON (25 News Now) - On a cold morning, nothing’s better than a warm breakfast. There’s a spot here in town where the service is just as great as the food.
Virginia Mathis spent years working in a little building on Jackson Street. When the owner decided to sell it, Ginny knew was time to open her own spot - Aunt Ginny’s Cafe.
“(The previous owner) has helped me this entire way,” Ginny said. “We made a real quick turnaround - we opened in two weeks at the end of May, and we’ve been going strong ever since.”

At Aunt Ginny’s Cafe, they’re serving up unique takes on your favorite plates. Most people who eat here say the great food comes in second to the fabulous service.
“My customers are amazing. They’re like family,” Ginny said.
The staff here is a well-oiled machine, and the ladies in the kitchen make sure we are well taken care of.
I start with the popular Breakfast Horseshoe, served with a choice of meat. I decide to go with some delicious crispy bacon.
Next up, I get to try the Sausage Skillet - Aunt Ginny’s bestseller. It’s the skillet without the skillet, piled perfectly on the plate. And it tastes great.
For those who are in the mood for something sweet, Aunt Ginny’s serves a unique treat: Pumpkin “toast-cakes” - a little different from your classic pancake.

If you still have a sweet tooth, they’ve got delicious homemade desserts including mini cheesecakes, warm pie and fresh, frosty cinnamon rolls.
Aunt Ginny says when you stop by for a bite, she hopes you leave with a full belly, and maybe some new pals, too.
“We will sit people with other couples, and they make new friends and come out ahead of the game ... Happy and full. That’s all that matters,” Ginny said.
You can find Aunt Ginny’s Cafe at 31 East Jackson Street in Morton.
