Local veteran considers this day a blessing

MCLEAN County (25 NEWS) - A McLean County tradition continued Thursday on the steps of the old courthouse, a ceremony to honor veterans.

Dozens of people showed up.

A veteran there said this was his first time attending the event and said it was a very special day.

“Happy Veterans day to everyone. This is very moving for me because like I said this is the first time. I appreciate God allowing me to join the military and to be a blessing to other people, and service in the Army and I was a combat medic as well,” said Donald Wiggins, a veteran.

Wiggins said he plans on attending more ceremonies for veterans.
