Peter Russell is a native of central Illinois raised in Washington. He attended Illinois State University with a focus on Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Business Administration. After graduating in 1985, he began a career in television at WEEK-TV as reporter/photographer for News 25. From there, Peter moved into sales as an Account Executive in 1992. He was promoted to Local Sales Manager two years later and then General Sales Manager in 1995. Today, Peter oversees the sales operation for WEEK Television as Vice President and General Manager

“As a child, I was pulled to the magic of television. I watched everything but was particularly interested in news. At the time, Bill Houlihan was the News 25 weatherman. I thought what a cool job he has. Fifteen years later and I am shooting live shots with Houli in the evenings. What a privilege it is to work at the very station I grew up watching and with our team of professionals.”

Peter lives in Peoria with his wife, Julie, and children Emily and Reed.
