India Afriyie is a Multimedia Journalist for 25 News/Heart of Illinois ABC.
India was born in Kumasi, Ghana, but spent most of her childhood in Maryland.
She began her Journalism career in 2021 as a dayside reporter.
Prior to her professional career she studied communications on a journalism track at Stevenson University in Baltimore.
After receiving her Bachelor's Degree in 2018, she moved on to a Master’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Maryland.
She received that degree in 2020.
Now India is in Illinois and loving it.
When she’s not in the newsroom working on important stories you can find rock climbing, burning (cooking) unique foods, sleeping, or chatting with her family.
India draws inspiration from her family. Her best friends are her Aunt Nafisa, cousins Olamide and Babatunde, and brother Mateen.
