Amber Krycka returns the Midwest as co-anchor of 25 News at 5pm, 6pm and 10pm. Amber comes from a reporter and anchor role at WJAX-TV Jacksonville, Florida. She is a journalist who brings passion and commitment to each and every story she tells. Amber joined the Action News Jax team in August 2016 from WTVQ, Lexington, Kentucky. Her career began in North Platte, Nebraska where she was both a reporter and news anchor.

Already, her career has brought her face to face with historic events and people. She’s covered hurricanes in Florida, multiple Kentucky Derby’s, tornados in Nebraska, the historic Senate race of Mitch McConnell vs. Alison Grimes, and national events too.

Of them all, Amber says she is very proud of helping push a firefighter cancer bill through the Kentucky state legislature. It followed her reporting on a Lexington firefighter was diagnosed with cancer and died after a long struggle for his life. She also raised the awareness of homeless veterans in central Kentucky by reporting widely on their plight.

Personally, Amber is a small-town girl from Michigan. She graduated from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan. She volunteers at a local nursing homes; participates actively in her church, sings, plays the piano and keeps both her head and body in shape by lots of outdoors activities.
