‘More than a meal’, Creve Coeur group hands out 50 Thanksgiving meal boxes

CREVE COEUR (25News Now) - More than a meal, a Creve Coeur Church hopes Thanksgiving baskets will remind people in need that they are not alone.

This group handed out 50 boxes on Monday night to prepare local families for the holiday.

Each box had a $25 gift card so families could choose their meat, plus green beans, stuffing, bread, pie and potatoes.

This is the largest number of boxes they’ve ever given through Journey Church.

Pastor Brock Winkler says this is more than just a meal.

“I believe it’s vitally important in two aspects... number one, it simply just puts food on their table and helps them during the holiday season. Second thing it does is let them know that they’re not alone, there’s other people out there that care for them and want to stand beside them and help them anyway we can,” said Pastor Winkler.
