UPDATE: Power restored to large area southwest of Peoria
UPDATE (10:20 P.M.) - Spoon River Electric Coop said all power should be restored. Anyone still without electricity is asked to call 309-647-2700.
UPDATE (9:30 P.M.) - Spoon River Electric Coop is working to get power restored to homes and businesses that have been without electricity, mainly in Fulton County, since about 8 p.m.
The utility said on its Facebook page that the outage affects customers served by its Breeds substation.
Those without power are people living in and round Canton Lake, North Canton, Trivoli, Glasford, and Banner, the utility said.
UPDATE (9:10 P.M.) - Fulton County ESDA Director Chris Helle said crews have identified the issue and will be working to restore power as quickly as possible.
“We would like to thank the crews from Spoon River Electric for going out in this cold rain and also the staff from SREC for sharing information with our agency this evening,” Helle said on Fulton County ESDA’s Facebook page.
FULTON COUNTY (25News Now) - A power outage was reported Monday evening over a large area southwest of Peoria.
Fulton County Emergency Services and Disaster Agency Director Chris Helle said the outage impacts an unknown number of customers served by Spoon River Electric Coop.
The outage affects residents and businesses in the Farmington, Canton and Banner areas - all in Fulton County - and the Glasford area in Peoria County, according to Helle.
Helle first reported the outage about 8 p.m. on the Fulton County ESDA Facebook page.
It’s not known yet how long those customers will be without electricity.
