(25News Now) - The boys high school basketball season tipped off on Monday across Central Illinois. At the Intercity Tournament, Normal Community’s high hopes for the season got off to a hot start with a 68-43 win over Bloomington. Jaheem Webber scored 21 while Noah Cleveland scored 18 for the Ironmen who had 10 dunks as a team. In the second game of the night at the Intercity, Normal West topped Bloomington Central Catholic 55-44.

At the Bushnell-Prairie City Tournament, Illini Bluffs also has big goals for the season. The Tigers beat Illini West 53-28 in their season opener.

At the Fulton County Tournament, Farmington started the season 1-0 with a 50-29 win over North Fulton behind 24 points from Keauntrey Barnes. In the other matchup on the night, Canton topped Lewistown 41-32.

At the GCMS Tournament, Prairie Central started the season with a 85-47 win over Armstrong-Potomac. Tyler Curl led the way with 26 points for the Hawks. Meanwhile, Lexington raced out to a 21-2 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back in a 59-24 win over Iroquois West.

At the Brimfield Turkey Tourney, the host Indians knocked off Knoxville 52-35.

At the Peoria Heights Tournament, Midland outlasted Peoria Christian 78-66 while the host Patriots stormed past Midwest Central 72-39.
