Officer injured during scuffle to detain armed suspect

PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria Police say an officer received minor injuries in a struggle to detain a man Sunday night.
Spokesperson Semone Roth says Billy J. Moore, 52, was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, aggravated battery, unlawful possession of cannabis and resisting police.
Roth says officers were called at around 6:27 p.m. to the 600 block of South Western Avenue for a report of a man allegedly brandishing a handgun in a public parking lot.
Moore was transported to the jail.
