(25News Now) - Two Central Illinois football powers looked to punch their ticket to next week’s state championship games with final four matchups on Saturday afternoon.

In Class 6A, Washington’s outstanding season came to an end with a 34-18 loss to defending state champion East St. Louis. The loss also brings an end to the legendary career of Panthers head coach Darrell Crouch who finishes his career as the winningest coach in Washington history with a 145-53 record, 15 consecutive playoff appearances, three trips to the state semifinals and seven seasons with 10 or more wins.

In Class 7A, the magical run for unbeaten Normal Community came to an end at Downers Grove North as the Ironmen fell 42-0 to the Trojans on Saturday afternoon to finish the season 12-1.

In girls high school hoops, Peoria Notre Dame took home the Bank of Pontiac Tipoff title with a 82-25 win over East Peoria on Saturday at Prairie Central. In non-conference action, Morton beat Rock Island 55-34.
