PEORIA (25News Now) - A cold front is moving across the Illinois River Valley this morning and is driving in much cooler temperatures. Around midnight, temps were in the upper 50s but after the cold front passes we’ll fall into the low to mid 40s. Luckily, skies will become mostly sunny and temperatures may climb up a few degrees into the low 50s this afternoon. Winds will remain breezy from the north throughout the afternoon.

It’ll be a cold start Saturday morning as lows fall into the mid to upper 20s! Highs will rebound, climbing into the mid 50s Saturday then upper 50s Sunday. Skies will remain mostly sunny through the weekend until clouds move in for the second half of Sunday. The clouds will be ahead of a system that will bring rain into the forecast Monday and Tuesday. Rainfall amounts locally aren’t looking too impressive at the moment, but if the track shifts more north we may receive more.

Tuesday afternoon and evening are trending drier, but windy. Winds will likely be gusting up to 30-35 mph from the north which will drive in a much colder airmass for the remainder of the week. That’s right - Thanksgiving is going to be a cold one this year. Highs in the mid to upper 40s Monday and Tuesday will fall into the 30s Wednesday through the following weekend. Mornings will also be frigid with lows in the upper teens and low 20s.
