Christmas spirit alive and well, and it isn’t even Thanksgiving
Jingle & Mingle kicks off Crittenton Centers’ annual Festival of Trees
PEORIA (25News Now) -It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas, a week before families gather at the Thanksgiving table.
Thursday night was the kickoff event, a Jingle & Mingle, for Peoria’s Crittenton Centers annual Festival of Trees.
The festival is a key fundraiser for the agency which runs a crisis nursery and other services to help families.
People can bid on the more than 80 decorated trees, wreaths and other items that are on display at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Grand Prairie.
Volunteers have been working on the themed trees since July.
An organizer said the 15th annual event is all about helping families.
“We serve families in crisis and a hundred percent of the proceeds that we raise at the Festival of Trees this weekend goes back to helping those children and families that are in crisis, and that’s ultimately what we do at Crittenton, that’s our mission,” said Brent Oest, development director, Crittenton Centers.
Here is this schedule for the Festival of Trees at the Holiday Inn & Suites at Grand Prairie:
Senior day is Friday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Youth night is also Friday from 3:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Brunch & Bubbly is Saturday from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Saturday is also family day, which is from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.
The auction on the trees, wreaths and other items ends at noon on Sunday.
