Bloomington Police announce new charges in sexual assault investigation

BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) - A Bloomington resident indicted on multiple counts of predatory criminal sexual assault has been indicted on new charges.
Bloomington Police say Michelle Blessent was served with a new warrant related to the latest indictment - predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under 13, grooming and exploitation of a child less than 17.
Blessent’s original charges were five counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under 13.
Blessent was indicted in April after a lengthy investigation, police said at the time.
Blessent has been in the McLean County Jail since being arrested on April 12.
