Normal Community, Washington football proud to be a part of state semifinals
(25News Now) - With the Illinois high school football playoffs down to the final four in all 8 classes, both the Big 12 and Mid-Illini Conference champions remain in contention for state championships.
In Class 7A, Normal Community is coming off a terrific come-from-behind win over Glenbard East in the state quarterfinals. The Ironmen erased a 14-point halftime deficit to pick up the win and are onto the state semifinals for the first time since 2007 where they’ll travel to Downers Grove North on Saturday at 1 p.m.
In Class 6A, the Washington Panthers are headed to the state final four after a dominant win over Chatham Glenwood on Saturday. For the Panthers, that means one more chance for a home game for head coach Darrell Crouch in his 19th and final season. Washington is set to host defending state champion East St. Louis in the state semifinals on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Babcook Field
