PEORIA (25News Now) - A man arrested in Indiana, charged in a February murder, will remain in jail while he awaits trial.

Peoria County State’s Attorney Jodi Hoos says Donte Agnew was charged over the weekend for the shooting and killing of Davion Parker on February 11, 2023, at the Lexington HIlls Apartment Complex.

Earlier Tuesday, a motion to deny Agnew’s pre-trial release was granted.

Police responded at around 7 p.m. February 11 to the 3400 block of West Oakcrest Drive for a report of shots fired, finding Parker in the front passenger seat of a minivan with a gunshot wound to his head.

Agnew and another man, Torreon Cary were seen on surveillance video coming out of a nearby apartment building with guns in their hands, Hoos said.

The pair reportedly fired multiple shots toward the minivan in the parking lot, hitting Parker, who died days later in the hospital.

Hoos says Carey is still being sought. Peoria Police say Carey is a Black man, around 5 feet 9 inches and 180 pounds with long black hair and brown eyes.
