(25News Now) - The high school football state quarterfinals are quickly approaching and what a difference a year makes for the Normal Community. This time last year, the Ironmen’s season was over after a heartbreaking one-point loss in the second round of the playoffs. In 2023, NCHS is coming off a one-point win in Round 2. They’re now fired up for their state quarterfinal matchup on Saturday against Glenbard East.

In Class 3A, the Olympia Spartans are making their second straight Elite 8 appearance. The Spartans host unbeaten Roxana in a state quarterfinal matchup on Saturday.

In high school volleyball, the Morton Potters have used contributions from all four classes, freshman-senior to make their run to the state final four

In Class 1A volleyball, the Hartem Stags are back in the state finals. With an enrollment of just 64, Hartsburg-Emden is one of the smallest schools in the state, but their volleyball tradition is as rich as anybody’s.
