Man arrested on weapons offenses after fleeing police

PEORIA (25News Now) - A man was arrested after being reportedly armed with a handgun and fleeing police.
Peoria Police spokesperson Semone Roth says Javon Wilson, 24, was identified as a man armed with a handgun among several other men loitering in the parking lot of a business.
Wilson was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card and resisting police.
He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
Roth says officers were called at around 3:22 p.m. Monday to the 2400 block of North Sheridan.
