Boy shot in foot Mon. night

PEORIA (25News Now) - A 15-year-old boy was taken to a hospital by private vehicle after being shot once in the foot.

Peoria Police spokesperson Semone Roth says officers responded just before 11 p.m. Monday to the 2600 block of West Malone for a 10-round ShotSpotter alert.

Roth says the boy’s injury is not life-threatening.

The boy told police he was shot while riding in a vehicle that was fired at by an unknown person.

The shooting is under investigation. There is currently no suspect information.
