WEEK News Team takes home annual Turkey Bowl trophy
PEORIA (25News Now) - Here’s something that might be right up your alley WZND’s all media Turkey Bowl is back.
Talent from radio and television throughout central Illinois, including members from our 25News team competed.
The Turkey Bowl is an annual charity event, sponsored by WZND, Illinois State University’s student radio station, to raise money for ISU’s child care center.
”We feel it’s important for us to be partnering with a philanthropy that we can engage within the community. Every year we’re lucky enough to go visit with the children in the childcare center. This past October, we did pumpkin painting with them. It was fun to engage with them in a way that involves a lot of students at the station as well as the students themselves,” says Cami Serrahn, the Assistant Public Relations Director for WZND
There were quite a few strikes thrown as 25News caught our very own Devan Masciulli hit an amazing strike as she walked away with confidence.
With this annual Turkey Bowl the goal was to raise close to $2,000.
In total, close to $50,000 have been donated to the childcare center over the last 36 years.
