(25News Now) - Peoria Notre Dame’s dream of back-to-back soccer state titles lives on. The Irish beat Burbank St. Laurence 2-0 in their state semifinal matchup on Friday. PND will now look to win back-to-back state championships for the first time in program history when they take on Crystal Lake South in the state championship game Saturday at 4:30.
In Class 1A, Normal U-High is gearing up for the state championship game. The Pioneers take on Winnetka North Shore Country Day in the 1A State title game on Saturday at 2:30.
In volleyball, Normal West’s terrific season came to an end on Friday night. The Wildcats fell to state power Chicago Mother Mac in two sets at the Class 4A Normal Community Super-Sectional.
In Class 3A, Morton is headed to the state final four. The Potters knocked off New Lenox Providence Catholic in two sets to advance to their first ever state finals. The Potters will take on Wheaton St. Francis in the state semifinals next Friday at 5:30 p.m. at CEFCU Arena in Normal.
In Class 1A, the Hartem Stags are on to the state final four. The Stags beat Annawan in three sets to win the Bushnell-Prairie City Super-Sectional. Hartem is set to take on Cissna Park in the state semifinals next Friday at 9 a.m. at CEFCU Arena in Normal.
