(25News Now) - Wednesday was sectional championship night in high school volleyball across Central Illinois. At the 3A Galesburg sectional, an all-Mid-Illini matchup between Morton and Metamora went the way of the Potters as Morton rallied from losing the first set to down Metamora in 3 and advance to Friday’s Kankakee Super-Sectional.
Elsewhere in Class 3A, Normal U-High’s season has come to an end. The Pioneers fell in two sets to Lincoln at the Springfield SE sectional.
In Class 4A, Normal West is headed to the State Elite Eight after a thrilling three-set win over Belleville West to win the Pekin sectional title. They will play close to home at the Normal Community Super-Sectional on Friday.
In Class 2A, IVC fell in two sets to Rock Falls at the Princeton sectional.
In Class 1A, Illini Bluffs fell to Annawan in two sets at the Princeville sectional
Meanwhile, Hartem is also headed to the State Elite 8. The Stags beat Decatur Unity Christian in two sets to win the Concord Triopia sectional. They will take on Annawan at the 1A Bushnell-Prairie City Super-Sectional on Friday.
In high school soccer, Peoria Christian and Normal U-High are gearing up for Class 1A state semifinal matchups on Thursday.
In college hoops action, Bradley beat St. Ambrose 74-61 on Wednesday night at Carver Arena
