‘Swatting’ threats made to Bloomington 87, other groups in community
The district says there is an increased police presence at Bloomington High School

BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) - District 87 says they and other community organizations were the target of threatening calls police have determined to be ‘swatting’.
A district spokesperson says as soon as the call was received, protocols were followed, including close collaboration with Bloomington Police.
Bloomington schools were last victims of swatting back in March. Swatting is defined as a malicious act intended to deceive law enforcement and cause unnecessary panic and disruption.
There is an increased police presence at Bloomington High School, the district said.
