2 shot during overnight hours in Peoria
Neighbor wakes up to see shooting victim banging on her window
PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria Police confirm two men were hospitalized after an early Monday shooting after a 15-round ShotSpotter alert.
A department spokesperson says the shooting happened at around 1:10 a.m. in the 2900 block of Jefferson Ave, near Cherry Street.
When officers arrived, they found the victims at the scene with gunshot wounds.
Both have non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Jennifer Simmons lives next door and woke up to one of those men knocking on her door pleading for help.
“He came right to the door. Right to my door and window and was banging on the window. He was like, ‘Man, I’ve been shot.’ All I could do was help him as much as I could, but he was limping,” Simmons said.
There’s no suspect information at this time, and police are investigating.
