BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) - A Danvers man in the McLean County Jail on trial for murder has died by suicide.

McLean County Sheriff Matt Lane says Joshua Livingston, 41, was found unresponsive at around 9:33 p.m. Thursday during a security check.

Correctional officers immediately responded and initiated rescue efforts and the fire department also provided emergency medical services.

Livingston was pronounced dead at 10:22 p.m. by McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder.

The incident is being investigated by Illinois State Police per protocol and was also reported to the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Livingston was booked into the jail on April 26 on charges of murder, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and concealment of a homicidal death, Lane said.

An autopsy will be performed to determine exact cause and manner of death.

Livingston was on trial for allegedly killing Melissa Sue Ostrom, 39, of Bloomington.

She was reported missing April 17. Her body was discovered in an undisclosed location three days later.
