Pedestrian dead after being hit by truck Sunday night

PEORIA (25News Now) - A man is dead after being hit by a truck Sunday night.
Peoria Police spokesperson Semone Roth says that during the investigation, officers learned the man disregarded a stop sign and was hit by a truck traveling north on Western Avenue.
Roth says that at around 6:33 p.m., police were called to the intersection of Western and Garden.
A man was found down near a damaged bicycle.
He was transported to a hospital with serious injuries and pronounced dead a short time later.
Manner and cause of death will be released by the Peoria County Coroner.
The driver of the truck was not injured and on scene when officers arrived.
The incident remains under investigation.
