New restaurant replaces once-popular Peoria sports bar
Landmark Plaza hopes to revitalize this area with a family friendly restaurant
PEORIA (25News Now) - A local restaurant owner has big plans for Landmark Plaza.
Following the recent closing of The Bullpen Sports Bar, Jeremy Sargent, owner of The Fry Spot, is opening Highly Flavored where The Bullpen once stood.
To bring new foods to the area, the family-owned and operated restaurant will serve Nashville chicken, PO-boys, Mississippi pot roast, and other meats.
With its food puns painted on the walls, a bar and an arcade, Sargent hopes it will help Landmark Plaza become popular again.
“While you’re here, maybe stop in at the Peoria Esports Complex or come here to the bowling alley and get a couple games in,” Sargent said. “I see Landmark in the next five years bringing people in from out of town.”
In an effort to revitalize the plaza, Sargent hopes to pitch other ideas to the City of Peoria. There are no details as to what those ideas are at this time.
Highly Flavored will open at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7.
