UPDATE: Wisconsin man dies, 2 other hurt in pickup truck-semi crash in Woodford County
UPDATE THURSDAY 10:52 A.M. - Illinois State Police say that preliminary information indicates both the pickup truck and semi were traveling southbound on I-39 near milemarker 13.
The pickup was passing in the left lane while the semi was in the right lane. The pickup struck the side of the semi, veered off to the left and then suddenly back right, traveling in front of the semi where it was hit.
The pickup and semi both left the roadway. The pickup overturned before coming to a stop.
UPDATE 10 P.M. - Woodford County Coroner Tim Ruestman said a Wisconsin man was killed when his pickup truck collided with a semi on southbound I-39 near El Paso late Wednesday afternoon.
Ruestman said the man’s wife and the semi driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital.
The coroner has yet to release the name of the man who died.
WOODFORD COUNTY (25News Now) - Illinois State Police confirm one person was killed in a crash involving a pickup truck and a semi in the southbound lanes of Interstate 39, a mile south of El Paso.
The crash was reported about 4:40 p.m. State Police say the right lane on I-39 is shut down for the crash investigation.
