PEORIA (25News Now) - Police in both Peoria and Bloomington are investigating two homicides this past weekend and both involved teenage boys.

The first incident happened in Peoria, on Friday evening just before 7pm.

Peoria Police were called to the 1600 block of North Great Oak Road in West Peoria.

The Peoria County Coroner told 25News, the victim’s name was 15-year-old Jabbarius Highsmith and he died from multiple gunshot wounds.

The detectives went out Monday to interview possible witnesses but so far no one has been arrested.

The second incident happened Saturday night on Kenmore near the Southgate Estates Trailer Park in Bloomington.

Bloomington Police say a 19-year-old man was stabbed and Bloomington Police Chief Jamal Simington says they did arrest a 16-year-old that same night less than two hours later.

This is the first time this year, Bloomington police are investigating a homicide.
