St. Jude Walk/Run raises more than $279,000
BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) - Hundreds of runners laced up their sneakers Saturday morning to hit the pavement for the St. Jude Walk/Run in Bloomington-Normal.
Six-hundred runners participated and helped raise more than $279,000. Participants could either run in the 5K, 10K or half-marathon races. Those who didn’t want to run could run a mile instead.
There were also activities for kids, such as the Kids Dash, which was a 30-yard dash into the end-zone of Illinois Wesleyan University’s football field.
The event also featured the famous red wagons of St. Jude that are used to transport patients inside the hospital. There was also face painting, balloon animals, and character meet-and-greets.
