25 Sports High School Saturday - September 23, 2023

PEORIA (25News Now) - A busy Saturday of high school sports was headlined by a soccer rivalry matchup in Peoria. Peoria Notre Dame rallied from a 2-1 deficit to beat Peoria Richwoods 3-2 to stay unbeaten in conference play.

In volleyball, Saturday was the first day of the Intercity Tournament and both Normal West and Normal U-High went 2-0 on the day.

In football, LeRoy ran their record to a perfect 5-0 with a 49-13 win over Red Hill.

In cross country, the Washington girls and Morton boys were team champions at the East Peoria XC Invitational.

In golf, Normal U-High won the team title at Pekin’s Lady Dragon Classic while Peoria Notre Dame’s Ella Coulter finished 2nd individually.

In the pool, Bloomington hosted their swim invitational at Bob Loy Natatorium.
