(25News Now) - Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker will be in the company of some of the nation’s top Democrats to discuss reproductive rights.
Pritzker is participating in the annual Clinton Global Initiative, a conference founded by the former president, and held this week in New York City.
Ex-presidential candidate, former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is also on the panel along with Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and former Biden Press Secretary Jen Psaki.
The conference’s website provides a description of the session, noting there’s a “significant disparity” in access to reproductive services worldwide, with some countries expanding access and others are rolling back protections.
“The United States once presented a model for access to safe, legal abortion – but in recent years there has been a sharp decline in access to care culminating in the Supreme Court’s 2022 Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade,” the website said.
The governor’s office said the panel session featuring Pritzker is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. CDT.
