PEORIA (25News Now) - Coffee - and now juice - will be poured once again in Peoria’s downtown medical district.
The city’s historic Kickapoo Building will be home to Intuition Coffee & Juice.
Intuition owner Ty Paluska was one of the original co-founders of Thirty-Thirty Coffee Co., which announced its closure in June.
The building is owned by the Jumer family, who has a relationship with Paluska and asked him if he wanted to open a coffee shop in that space.
Paluska says Intuition’s main focus will not be just on providing the best coffee in town but also a strong emphasis on sustainability, hospitality, wellness and community.
There are also plans to renovate the other half of the building where Margie’s Dry Cleaners was located - adding seating, prep space, retail space featuring local and handmade goods and generous amounts of outdoor seating under the overhang. That work is expected to take place within the first year or two.
Paluska also says the beloved Jumers bear will be on site.
