(25News Now) - Peoria Christian senior Jo Yokota grew up in Osaka, Japan. But for the last two years he’s been an international student at Peoria Christian and has played soccer for the Chargers.

Yokota says he feels that Japanese soccer is a bit more skill and technical-based while American soccer is a bit more physical. He’s taken some of technical skill he learned in Japan and combined it with the new physicality he’s learned in the United States and has had plenty of success at PCS.

In fact, soccer has been a huge help in his transition to the United States the last two years and has helped make friends and adapt to his new surroundings. He hopes to remain in the USA and play college soccer.
