PEORIA (25News Now) - Take a look at what’s happening in Central Illinois this weekend!

Morton Pumpkin Festival

It’s the 57th year for the Morton Pumpkin Festival, and today is its last day. The festival celebrates the beginning of the canning season with pumpkin-flavored foods, carnival rides and live entertainment. Until 10:30 a.m., you can get yourself some pumpkin pancakes for breakfast. Right after that, you can enjoy the parade! Enjoy those sweet pumpkin treats while you can.

Peoria Oktoberfest

Grab your dirndls and lederhosen and head out to the “king of fests.” Oktoberfest is back on the Peoria Riverfront! Some of today’s events include wiener dog races at 1:30 p.m., a log-sawing contest and music and dancing throughout the day. Of course, there will also be plenty of German food and beer to enjoy.

When: All day September 16 & 17

Where: Peoria Riverfront

Cost: $8 Saturday | $5 Sunday | $12 for the entire weekend

New Peoria Riverfront Museum Exhibit

A new exhibit is opening at the Peoria Riverfront Museum. It’s dedicated to the nation’s first black female millionaire, Annie Malone. The exhibit is called “Life and Legacy of Annie Malone.” It reflects on Malone’s time in Peoria, as well as her philanthropy and the legacy of her Poro company and colleges. There will be a celebration for the new exhibit with remarks from the exhibit’s curator, as well as an interactive activity for kids, a free screening of “Hair Love” in the Giant Screen Theater and a book signing.

When: September 16 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Runway Mixer Fashion Show

Watch local models rock the catwalk at the Runway Mixer Fashion Show. It’s part of Peoria Fashion Week and will feature designs by local fashion designers, live music and pop-up boutiques.

When: September 16 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Where: Sunset Hills Golf Course in Pekin

Cost: $10 entry

Gathering of Veterans Pow Wow

There will be a Gathering of Veterans Pow Wow in Edwards this weekend. The gathering will take place at the Seven Circles Heritage Center, over the hill from Wildlife Prairie Park. There will be vendors starting at 10:00 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday, as well as Native American singers and dancers starting at 1:00 p.m. and a grand entry at 6:00 p.m. Saturday. The family-friendly event is Native American-based but is open to all cultures.

When: September 16 & 17 at 10:00 a.m.

Saturday Night Lights Cruise In

Cruise on over to Washington and enjoy a night of fun at “Saturday Night Lights Cruise In.” Different from a car show, the Cruise In is open to anything with wheels and does not involve a competition. Enjoy music, cool cars and more! Everyone is welcome.

When: September 16 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
